For more than a quarter of a century, I have provided legal advice and representation to United States and foreign real estate investors in Florida. My experience allows me to help clients maximize the buying power -- and profit -- in residential or commercial real estate transactions.
To schedule a consultation with an experienced south Florida real estate lawyer regarding specific real estate matters such as 1031 exchanges or FIRPTA (Foreign Investment real Property Tax Act), contact my Miami area law office.
At my real estate law firm I assist both domestic (United States-based) and international investors looking to invest in residential and commercial real estate in Florida. I assist clients in locating properties, arranging for financing, advising on how to fulfill the requirements of the Foreign Investment Real Property Tax Act (FIRPTA), and arranging for "safe harbors" for funds through 1031 exchange transactions.
A 1031 exchange permits a property owner to swap real estate, in essence, with tax advantages. Rather than selling a piece of real estate and paying capital gains taxes outright, the seller is able to purchase another property of equal value to what they are selling and through the 1031 exchange, defer taxation until the eventual sale of the new property. At my South Florida real estate law firm, I assist real estate sellers in all aspects of the 1031 exchange process.
The FIRPTA was designed to enable the United States government to tax real estate purchase and sale transactions from foreign investors. I advise foreign investors on compliance with the FIRPTA requirements. I help foreign investors protect their investments.
